If you'd like to buy a drawing of a particular species from me, but you don't see it in my shop, please ask if I have it.
I have dozens of drawings in my filing cabinet, most of them are part of various large commissions
(I usually draw species separately and combine them on my computer when designing the final artwork, together with the text, if required),
so there's always a chance I might have exactly what you need :)

European robin perched atop a candy cane

December 11, 2022

As I walked through the snowy forest, something impossibly bright caught my eye. Perched neatly among the branches was a European robin – sitting, of all things, on a candy cane. I paused, wondering how a peppermint stick had found its way into the middle of the woods, as if Christmas itself had taken a wrong turn.

The robin’s warm orange-red breast echoed the red stripes of the cane, both glowing against the hush of white snow. It didn’t flinch when it noticed me. Instead, it tilted its head, curious and calm, as though we were equally surprised by one another. For a few quiet moments, we shared the stillness – bird, forest, and a touch of festive absurdity.

Then, just as suddenly, the robin opened its wings and lifted into the trees, leaving the candy cane behind like a small, magical clue. I stood there a moment longer before continuing my walk, smiling and feeling oddly grateful for such a gentle, unexpected meeting – the kind that turns an ordinary winter stroll into a small story worth keeping.

This Christmas robin card, featuring detailed wildlife art, makes a perfect companion to a seasonal gift for your loved ones.
